W3 : The Impact of Social Media on Courage: Does it Make Us More Brave?

Nowadays, social media has become part of our lives and it allows us to connect with others, share and express ourselves online. People seem braver and not afraid of sharing thoughts anymore. There are concerns about whether social media truly turned us braver or it simply creates a perception of bravery. However, it is important for us to consider the limitations and challenges associated with this platform.

FUTURE VISION

Let us imagine a future approximately 30 to 40 years from now, where social media has transformed into a platform that encourages real courage. In this ideal state, the internet has become a place where people can feel brave and strong and inspired and help others.

FOUR WAYS TO BUILD BRAVERY

1. Let's start with our mindset settings.

Firstly, you need to think about the impact you want to have on others and how the world will get impacted through your actions on social media. It doesn't have to be a grand trail but at least a meaningful one. Visualize the difference you can make and believe in your ability to forget the path.

2. Recognise fear as a natural part of our life and confront it.

Our brains often tell us to avoid fear but pushing through it can lead to personal growth. Let's embrace the discomfort and take courageous steps forward.

3. Seek out positive feedback and constructive criticism.

While you may be accustomed to unkindness online, let's just focus on the kind words and supportive feedback you receive. And don't forget to surround yourself with the people who genuinely want to help you to improve your life through kindness and direct feedback.

4. Understand your limitations and set boundaries.

It's exciting when your work gains attention but please be mindful not to overextend yourself. You need to prioritize the core aspects of your message and learn to say "no" to negative influences. Please be remember you have the power and right to block or remove the individuals who treat you poorly. Being brave also means knowing when to cut ties with negative forces, ultimately benefiting your growth and well-being. (Brandy, 2020)

The solutions were inspired by recognizing the problems and difficulties related to how social media affects courage. By imagining a future where social media encourages real bravery and empowerment, we can strive to make the online world more positive and supportive.
